Koos Pieterse (Financial Director)

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant with Price Waterhouse Coopers, Koos held various financial positions of which his last was as Commercial Director (being responsible for Finance, Internal Audit, IT and Corporate Finance) of Ackermans Ltd – a Pepkor company. He then moved to the position of Director : Merchandise Planning and Logistics. During this period he was very involved with importing, shipping and local distribution of products and implemented a whole host of systems and procedures. For the last two years, he was heading up the Buying Division of Ackermans – which included apparel, footwear, home ware, textiles, toys and fmcg products.
He resigned from Ackermans after more than seven year’s service in November 2006 to start his own Import and Distribution company and devote more time to Kimberley Consolidated Mining. Koos is one of the founding members of Channal Mining and has been involved on a part-time basis since inception. From June 2007 he became involved on a full time basis and resumes the position of financial director.
